When you are searching for a printing company, there are three major types out there to choose from. There are those big ones with many branches across states. Then there are those small ones, the kind of mom and pop stores that service the neighborhood. Lastly there are those emerging online printing services that have no store per se, except their website. Each have their own unique advantages and disadvantages that you can exploit when doing your printing tasks. For example, that mom and pop store across town may not be big enough for orders that you can bring to an online printing company, but they can offer you a loyalty discount if you print with them all the time. To know more about these little details we have listed below the advantages and disadvantages of each type of printer.

The small printers:
The smaller scale printing companies are the best option if you have a small printing order. This makes sense since smaller printers can handle little jobs quicker and more efficiently. Big printers might relegate your small jobs to a lower priority in favor of bigger high paying orders. So if you want fast and quick printing for your small job, just look for that local printing company around town. Also, If you keep employing them for small jobs, eventually, you may get a discount from them since you are a loyal customer. Simply establish a friendship with the clerk or the owner itself. You will be surprised at what a little goodwill can do to printing prices.

The best jobs for small printers include business cards, posters, brochures and fliers. These are basically printed in a relatively moderate number of copies which small printers can handle swiftly and efficiently. If you are printing any of those materials then go for that small printer. It will be worth it.

Big printers:
Now, of course big printers are adept at large bulk orders. They are your printer of choice if you have a big order like bulk newsletters, catalogs, booklets, marketing postcards, notepads, and other major printed materials. Usually big printers have better options in terms of paper types, color modes and production processes. If you have a very high priority order that requires extra special details then you really need the expertise of those big printers. They have proofreaders and layout artists that can check your designs before printing. Sometimes they even offer those services for free.

The drawback though with big printers is that sometimes the service can get impersonal. Since they are a big printer, they will expect you to adapt to their whole printing process with fixed quotes and printing times. You'll have to follow their rules since they have lots of orders to choose from. If you have a small order it might not get equal attention as with others.

Online printing:
Lastly, we have online printers. The difference really only with this option is that their store is located solely online, and they deliver your printed orders via courier. The great advantage of this mode of printing is that you can handle and monitor the whole printing process from your home computer or office. Also, since there are a lot of online printing companies out there, you can really search for the best printing deals in the country. You don't have to settle for the big or small printing company in town with their monopolistic prices. With online printing you can find the best deals that can really print your budged.

You can employ online printers for virtually any kind of printing job. They don't have any preferences really on big or small orders. Usually the services and options for printing are displayed in their website so that you can choose the amount of copies in your order, the date of deliver, proofing, and other pertinent details. They are best if you just can't be bothered to leave your work or house. Just go to their website, click away and receive your printed job.

Great! We hope this helps you chose the kind of printing company that can suit you. Choosing the best type of printer can save you money and time in your printing process. Good Luck!
